CDs and DVDs are both exceptionally cost-effective ways to distribute media and data. Typically purchased in bulk (though we carry single discs in jewel cases, as well), CDs and DVDs are ideal for circulating media among employees, investors, and customers.
This type of storage media can be easily labeled either by hand or with a laser printer. This gives them an advantage over other storage options, such as hard disk drives and USB drives. CDs and DVDs can also be easily copied with a burner. Capable of preserving and archiving data, these types of data storage products are a wonderfully convenient and affordable solution for distributing media.
There are two types of CDs and DVDs: recordable (CD/DVD-+R) and rewritable (CD/DVD-+RW). Recordable discs can only be written once. If data is written to the disc, it stays there for the lifespan of the disc; the data within cannot be altered and no more writes can be made. Rewritable discs allow for as many writes as you want: Data can be recorded, re-recorded, deleted, and otherwise manipulated just like most traditional forms of storage media... .
At Connection, we carry a variety of types of CDs and DVDs, including:
- CD-R
- CD-RW
- DVD-R
- DVD+R
- DVD+R DL
This is just a sample of what we have. No matter what type of CD or DVD drive you have, we carry compatible discs.
Choosing a CD or DVD can be a bit tricky because not all CDs or DVDs work with all CD or DVD players. For example, a DVD-R may not work with a DVD+R drive, which might only be compatible with DVD+R discs. While many disc drives are “hybrid” drives that work with various types of CDs and DVDs, not all disc drives are capable of reading all types of discs. Luckily, we offer advanced search filters so you can quickly find exactly what you’re looking for. If you’re not sure what type of media is best for you or you have any questions or concerns, contact our expert customer service representatives—they’re always happy to help.
