IRIS IRIScan Desk 6

The IRIScan Desk 6 is an entry-level document and pocketbook scanner from IRIS. Simply place your documents on the scan pad below the scanner head, and it will scan, digitize, crop, and turn them into searchable content with searchable text. The IRIScan Desk 6 facilitates storing, managing, and accessing word documents. Portable and USB-powered, it's suitable for use at home, in a small office, or while traveling. It supports up to A4/letter-size documents and provides a user-friendly and efficient way to archive books, loose papers, print magazines, and more. You can scan texts and pictures in a highly-automated process without having to set up complicated directory structures.

The IRIScan Desk 6 scans documents with a 12MP camera. It also records HD video at up to 15 fps, which is half the smoothness of real-time 30 fps. The lens can be zoomed in by up to 12x. Additionally, the IRIScan captures audio via a built-in mic. Artificial Intelligence features include finger removal, auto-page-turn detection, and text-to-speech. The text-to-speech function will read aloud any document, such as a Word doc, PDF file, text file, Web pages, or scanned documents, word by word. This function lets you listen to what's being read while you read along.

Other features include advanced image processing, contrast image settings, automatic de-skewing, multi-cropping, automatic edge-filling of a damaged document, front and back cover book detection, and a self-timer. IRIScan Desk 6 has an optical resolution of 300 DPI and recognizes 128 languages. It can be connected to and used with Mac and Windows computers. Editable content can be output in JPG, PDF (image), PDF (searchable), PDF (text), Word, Excel, Txt, EPUB (E-book), MP3, and WAV.
