The ServSwitch CX Quad IP supports Console Server access to multiple devices that are connected to it via their RS-232 serial ports. Authorized global users can switch to any of the connected devices and access them using either the Telnet or SSH (Secure SHell) protocols. This special serial console SAM is used to connect each console device to the ServSwitch CX Quad IP. Each serial console SAM is connected to the unit using a CATx cable as usual. On its other side, each Console SAM has a DB9 female RS-232 serial connection to link it to the server device.
