Remote controls hardly need an explanation these days, but that doesn’t mean you should take them for granted—after all, have you ever tried operating a device without a remote control?
Maybe you’ve lost the original unit, its batteries could have run out and you don’t have replacements—or perhaps some of the buttons have ceased to function. You only have one option until you can find a new remote: Physically walking up to the device and adjusting it that way.
This is far from ideal if you’re in the middle of a business presentation and you need to activate something on a screen that’s all the way across the room.
Of course, that assumes your device can even be manually adjusted in the first place. Some devices are dependent on remote controls to function at all....
